Meet Andrea Toyias.

The Bard aka Shakespeare has been known to proclaim, “All the world’s a stage”, and perhaps that’s why some titles from Blizzard entertainment are so cinematic and wide-ranging: ANDREA TOYIAS’s approach is to make

the recording booth “an endless stage of possibilities, rather than a room, a mic, and four padded walls.” Her strategy has paid off, with Blizzard’s world-rocking success with titles such as Diablo, StarCraft, World of

Warcraft and especially Overwatch.

Andrea landed upon Blizzard’s shores in 2008 and was given the task of building their VO department from the ground up. As the Senior Casting & Voice Director at Blizzard, she casts and directs every voice appearing in

a Blizzard title. Fifteen-plus years later, casting and directing ghouls, goblins, multi-headed demons, space aliens and super heroes of every variety is Andrea’s specialty...and working with actors of every level is her

deepest passion. Andrea's goal, no matter the character and no matter the project, is to find a truth and believability in every line and in every performance.

Week 1: Unlock your Video Game Battle Chest!

Take a deep dive into what tools are needed to truly enhance your video game battle chest. Through lively conversation and character creation, Andrea will cover what she looks for in talent and what vocal assets are most useful in the sphere of AAA games. 

Week 2: Uplevel Your Auditioning Techniques

Being alone in your booth with confusing sides can be overwhelming and debilitating at times. Andrea’s goal is to “turn on the lights” in that darkened mental space so that characters can come to life and connections can be made to both character and copy. Her aim is to provide actual GPS coordinates for you to follow so that you can “find” your character and bring amazing performances to life.  

Week 3: Casting Director for a Day

Through a lively discussion of what makes a good audition, combined with a review of real-life

auditions that have landed in Andrea’s inbox, participants will get a solid understanding of what

casting directors are looking for and what truly makes an audition shine. 

Week 4: Unleash Your Inner Monster

Monsters aren’t under the bed or in the closet. They are in you! And with Andrea’s help, she

hopes to uncover the wild monster in each of you.
